The collaborative efforts of lawyers and other leaders will help accelerate the successful transition to a low carbon and climate resilient future by supporting actions needed to achieve Africa's socio-economic development goals at local, national and regional levels, in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Due to their positions as legal experts, custodians of ethics and trusted
business advisors, lawyers are uniquely placed to support, assist and
advice parties seeking to achieve their transition goals. Their impact
is amplified when they ally with like-minded leaders from other
professions.
Our initiative has already recruited more than 50 participants spanning a variety of sectors (private, public and non-profit), and more are joining weekly.
The Village supports the work of The Chancery Lane Project a UK non-profit that drafts climate-conscious clauses for use in contracts, empowering organizations to embark on a transformative path towards achieving net-zero emissions.
